Peregrine Falcons first nested on Derby's Cathedral, England, in 2006. Our Peregrine Project is now run by a partnership between Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Derby City Council, Derby Cathedral and the Cathedral Quarter. Here is what's happening in 2025. . .
Monday, 4 Aug. 9:00 am - Amusingly, there was a Woodpigeon sat on the edge of the platform, which subsequently took a stoll about! It was probably the same bird that had been jumping about the crenellations below the platform a little earlier.
Tuesday, 5 Aug., 1:00 pm - From the noises over the last hour, it sounds like a Peregrine is perched on the top of Camera 1 (a not uncommon occurrence).
Thursday, 7 Aug. 10:10 am - An adult Peregrine is standing on the crenellations below the platform (it wasn't there 30 minutes ago). A juvenile Peregrine is doing quite a lot of shouting somewhere above, catching the adult Peregrine's attention.
Thursday, 7 Aug. 3:10 pm - After five hours, the adult Peregrine is still standing on the crenellations below the platform (it was present by 10:10 am this morning).
Just when the adult was doing some fun poses (opened wings and kept like that then started moving in this pose around) my access to the video was cut off. My connection seems to be fine…

Just before 9:30 am there were two Woodpigeons wandering about the platform with the sound of a shouting Peregrine in the background.
Yeah, when I opened the page this morning it gave me false hope for a split second, lol.
Monday, 4 Aug. 1:30 pm - An adult Peregrine has just arrived on the platform.
Adult on platform
I looks like the female, as there is quite a lot of spotting on the feathers of the upper breast.
She's just gone
Someone is there, I think one of the adults, perhaps.
Male and female adults meeting again, lots going on then one flew off
Now I know it was the male since the female just showed up (bigger!) and they chatted and the male took off!
Couple of pigeons back, bottom corner. Peregrine looks like its make a nest
I believe a peregrine is now where the pigeons were.
Tuesday, 5 Aug. 8:20 am - An adult Peregrine is standing on the crenellations below the platform; it wasn't there 30 minutes ago.

Wednesday 6th 6.08 see someone's home can only just see it
They left just now.
Stand off between pigeon and peregrine? They’re just staring at each other, it looks like.
The pigeon couple seem to have given up for now.
Wednesday, 6 Aug. 10:30 am - An adult Peregrine is standing (in quite dark shade) on the crenellations below the platform.
You can see the moving shadow of one of them atop the cam 1 as well!
It was still there at 1:00 pm, but I had to go out after that.
I missed seeing the shadow today, but I could hear the noises for at least an hour afterwards.

Still there!
Adult, male?, in the usual corner
