Update 24th April: Get ready - we think one of our eggs has already 'pipped'. Hatching seems imminent! Check viewer comments on this post for the latest updates from our keen webcam watchers.
We're pleased to be able to announce that both of our web cameras can now be viewed on all iPhones!
For the last year or more, old iPhones could display NESTCAM 2, but not those with modern versions of Safari or other browsers. It seemed ironic that my ancient iPhone5 worked OK, but not my recent purchase of a modern iPhone SE. This all came to a head whilst we tried to adjust the position of NESTCAM 2 whilst dangling on an abseil rope without being able to see how our changes were actually affecting the view! After finally investigating the issue, our webhosting supplier, Streamdays, appears to have resolved the issue. Thanks, too, to Tim Unwin from Derby City Council. This is a screenshot taken today on an iOS 17 device. Whilst only NESTCAM 1 has sound, it's great that mobile users can now watch either camera.
(Eagle-eyed viewers might already have spotted that NESTCAM 2 is lagging an hour behind. We'll try and fix that next time we're up inside Derby Cathedral tower.)
Please let us know by leaving a comment if you're still having difficulties viewing either webcamera, but make sure to describe what system you are trying to view them on.

I always tried camera 2 just in case it worked!
Thank you so much for getting it sorted.
Wendy I will do my best to be up early (take iPhone to bed) and hopefully catch some pics of hatching.
Are the eggs due to hatch next week?
Thanks Jean ... looked back to last year for hatch details ... last egg laid 26th March (3rd egg date uncertain due to cam problems) first & only hatch was 27th April which was 32 days from last egg, the chick came from one of the two brown eggs laid last!
This year's laying dates are 17th, 20th, 23rd, 25th March ... today is Day 26 from last egg 28 from 3rd egg ... using the average window of 29-32 days then I guess we are on hatch watch!
Please shout if you disagree ... fingers firmly crossed that the eggs are viable!
Hi Wendy, I have just checked back to last years photos for dates too.
I think we are on hatch watch from today onwards.
Just hope they all hatch successfully!

No visual confirmation, but I've been able to hear at least one chick since 9pm. The male won't budge, despite the female sitting right on top of him at one point!
Female just took over, three eggs were visible and looked intact. Couldn't see a chick in the dark, but couldn't see a fourth egg either.
Here is some footage showing reluctance of male to let female take over ...

Still 4 eggs at 0930 on 22 / 04
Which is the bird with different coloured feet? The male or the female? One pink one yellow.
Changeover just happened, and I saw a chip in one of the eggs.
Four eggs seen at change over at 20.15
Day 28 ... Couple of normal changeovers then Male wouldn't budge when female came in at 18.53, she went into other scrape

Did you note which egg it was ... I checked them at noon & couldn't find anything remarkable!
I struggle to differentiate them when it's dark, but it was the egg that was closest to the camera around the time I commented.
I could hear some gentle peeps but think it was parent cheeping gently to the eggs, have heard that quite often in last day or so
Can't help as wasn't watching that changeover!
Hopefully we'll all see it tomorrow. :)
I heard a faint insistent scrawling sound, I've heard it in previous years just before an egg hatches.
She is reluctant to move for change over. He is having lovely Preen with a full crop at Moment
Fingers crossed
and whoever asked CHOL:):) Ch= chuckling .OL- out laod
Have done change over, but could only see 3 eggs (photo on Flickr) hope fourth is just out of sight!
Neither of our pair have that problem, likely just a trick of the light, maybe you can get a screenshot next time you see it?
It was Jean, saw it at next changeover 10.39
Am pretty sure I saw a hole in one of the eggs at 15.30, Tuesday. (14.30 on camera 2 display) Fingers crossed.
Still four eggs at changeover at 16.11
Chuckle isn't a word you hear very often. :)
Footage of some changeovers today, trying to see as much of the eggs as possible ...

Did you mean today? I looked and couldn't see a changeover at that time!
Quick change over 05.15. Still 4 eggs !!
Changeover again 7.08- definitely 4 eggs!
Can she see the male and calling for him to take over?

Or is it intruder, she just flew oof and thrn back in seconds, possibly a pip in one egg ..will post on Flickr.
apologies previous post spelling.
Think could be a pip in front right white egg
She left the eggs uncovered, took a pic and enlarged it, couldn't see any pips!
Many thanks for flickr pics Kate but I couldn't see a pip, blotches are making it quite difficult!
This is her leaving eggs uncovered briefly, have added enlarged pic of eggs ...

Wendy has sent us this link from 18:30 today, showing four intact eggs still visible.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwbogqot7D8
(Apparently, she's used up her daily allowance of comments, so we're posting it on her behalf. Who even knew there was a maximum comment allowance?!!)
Tomorrow morning should see eggs start hatching- female rather anxious and not as settled today, seemed to be 'encouraging' eggs by moving them more, perhaps?
Quick change over 05.0$. Four eggs intact.
Turning more frequently...so are we imminent
Changeover 11.18- still 4 eggs...
Day 31 changeover at 11.18, eggs still whole
https://youtu.be/4aYwMraZoIk
Certainly keeping us on our toes,
still turning regularly, and a noticeable action ( similar as to when Egg,is due to be laid) Keeps pecking at the grit, wonder if the action travels from the body to the eggs urging it, to know ,someone ,is waiting for them to push out the shell.
Hi All: please post any new comments to the latest post and not to this old one. Thanks.
