Last week, photographer Dave Farmer visited the cathedral here in Derby and took some photos of the female on the nest platform. Here's just one of them for your delectation! What a handsome bird....

There is a bird on the bridge by derby council house then is mot moving and we don’t now how to contact any body any ideas
Hi Angela: email peregrines@derbyshirewt.co.uk with as much detail as possible eg where was the bird and what did it look like, eg was it a pigeon or some other type of bird etc.

I have just seen both peregrines on the webcams. They arrived together, eechupping! The male bird flew off after a short while, leaving the female to do some scraping in the gravel. All looking very positive.
Need to clean nesting platform out ready for new breeding season. Female looking at platform. Don't blame her for not wanting to get on it. Hopefully it will get done soon.

As Kate says, the platform will be cleaned before any eggs are laid don't worry.
However, for an abseil down to the nest, we need a day when there is no wind and it is warm and they have been in short supply recently.
And of course in the wild, peregrines have no such 'clean-up' service provided. They lay their eggs among last year's debris unless it has blown off during the winter.

Mrs was sitting showing a full crop ,when himself brings a gift, to tease her, as he quickly flew off,with it, in a circle before returning,landing, above her.

Mr visited earlier and sraped both sides
12:42 on Sat 5/3/22 both birds were on the platform with vocalising (ee-chupping?) one flew, the other did some scraping. Things definitely look to be progressing towards egg laying.
Incidentally, the webcam on the AYLESBURY project is now up and running again. There is a pair of peregrines in residence but don't look to be as far advanced breeding as the Derby pair.
