The second and third eggs

Friday 6th Update. The third egg was seen at 8.30 am today but so far no indication of exactly when it was laid.
A much longer gap than usual between the second and third eggs so maybe we won't get a fourth?
Time will tell.....

The project team.

Wendy Bartter captured this video for us today showing the two eggs uncovered for all to see;

Right now I believe it is mommy covering the eggs. Possibly one more in the early morning.

She just finished shuffling them around and has settled on them.

Just logged in by chance to find Mr & Mrs P both absent from scrape and still only two eggs clearly visible.

Thanks Heather & Vicky for early hours reports ... latest changeover shows us still TWO eggs ...https://youtu.be/KzTBd4cghL4

I can't tell who is who but one of them is covering the eggs right now. I'll soon be off to bed so maybe I'll see a third one when I wake up. It is just after midnight here. Night all.

Still only two eggs at the moment!

Thanks Helen, my turn again ... she has just moved to perch on ledge & it's still two eggs!

Mrs P on ledge, still only two eggs - really keeping us guessing. Not sure if this is rather a long time between laying of third egg but perhaps we'll see another one in the morning.

Thanks Heather, she did go back after a short while but then Mister arrived at 23.18 & she flew off, he's now covering the TWO eggs!

She's awake but covering the eggs.

Not moving at all. Sleeping soundly.

Vicky said...

Well, she got fussy for awhile but wouldn't move far enough for me to see if there were 3 eggs. I got to see the edge of 2 but now she has settled down on them again.

Three eggs at 8:30 changeover!

THREE EGGS! After some persuasion Mr P ? finally pushes Mrs P? off eggs - hurrah!

Think I got the two mixed up and it was Mrs P trying to claim her eggs back and not the other way round as it dos look like Mrs P on scrape now. If so he was very reluctant to give up his turn on the eggs - I find it difficult distinguishing the two when in close proximity as both seemed equal in size.

Just wondered if any of last year's juveniles have been seen around the Cathedral during the winter or if they all "flew the nest"?

Greatest news to read that THIRD EGG has arrived but very sad to report that my overnight recording gear failed so there is no record as to what time it appeared!
Last colour footage I have is @ 00.47 showing bird covering eggs but still trying to decide which one as there were breaks in recordings ... but pretty certain third egg was after this time!
Will there be a fourth one?? Bournemouth only has three & no prospect of any more this season & Exeter same but cam has been down for a couple of days so inconclusive!

When she was fussing at 6 am I wondered if she laid an egg as she was up off the eggs for a bit then settled down and covered them again. But I could just see the edge of 2 eggs. Glad to hear of the third for sure.

Right now she has something white on her face that she is trying to get off. Also some white on the scrape that looks like egg shell.

I think it is Mr P with something on his face. It is still there.

Wonder if we're on course for a fourth egg tomorrow ? Mr DP been on scrape ledge for hours tonight & took over whilst Mrs took a break ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4hWkMtYVHE

All seems well with the scrape. I got a little worried last night as Mr P I think it was had something on his face and was trying to get it off. The white I saw on the scrape is still there so I guess it is nothing to worry about.
