Peregrine Falcons first nested on Derby's Cathedral, England, in 2006. Our Peregrine Project is now run by a partnership between Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, Derby City Council, Derby Cathedral and the Cathedral Quarter. Here is what's happening in 2024. . .
Wendy Bartter has recently captured a number of video clips of the female falcon on the nest platform.
This first one shows her almost losing her balance on the edge:
And here's a second showing her 'blowin' in the wind'.....:
And this one shows some scraping/display behaviour which does sometimes occur at this time of the year:
There are more videos available...for the YT links please see Wendy's 'comment' to the previous post on this blog. As always a huge 'thank you' to Wendy for capturing these clips for us!
Very fortunate to have so many visits from Mrs DP to keep us ticking over 'til Spring nesting ... here's another from yesterday showing how expertly she prepares her foodhttps://youtu.be/EQligZXnLnU
Well done again Wendy. This morning saw an interesting scenario. While Mrs finished off that bit of Prey from yesterday, another was watching her, standing back on the Cams on the egglaying scrape, they then had a little chin wag, before he/it flew off.Pics as usual posted, note the clocks are an hour out of sync.
Mrs DP still using scrape very regularly & Kate captured some great shots of her with prey this morning, this footage from late afternoon today https://youtu.be/SZlHPhC0n4M
Thanks for all the updates of Mrs P, nice to see her on the scrape. When I occasionally log in she's never around. Has Mr P been spotted at all either on video or from someone on ground?
