Fourth and final?

Fourth egg spotted by PaxCanada at 7.26 this morning, 31st March.
Now we move into the long incubation period when not too much happens.
Tomorrow, the Queen visits the cathedral to hand out the Maundy money. Since there will be lots of people milling about we have decided to run an embryo watch point on the green in the morning, roughly 10 - 1pm depending on the weather (it's cold and showery here today).
Probably there will be little to see - the female will probably be incubating and out of sight and if the male bird is off hunting or just not perching on the east face there'll be nothing to see at all - but at least we will have an opportunity to talk about the birds and the project.
Maybe we'll see some of you down there perhaps......be aware that parking will be difficult!

Ps. Photo of four eggs to follow no doubt.......

This is great, now for the interesting bit. Off for Easter so not going to miss much thank goodness at least I know the 4th egg has been laid.

To Anonymous I'm sure the Queen will be interested whether or not she does keep pigeons.

Great news!

I was up quite late last night and did not see any evidence of the fourth egg. I have just got a capture of the eggs and will put on flickr.

Helen Sara's capture early this morning looks like the egg was just laid going by the position of the falcon.

Its great to see the picture that 'pigeon fancier' has managed to get. Just looked and it looks as tho something is bothering her. Another bird on higher cam but can't work out which one it is. Off for Easter break so won't be able to update for a while. Keep up the good work

She does seem to be looking up a lot... maybe she's looking to see if it's stopped raining!

In the light of some less than positive comments and remembering that several schools follow the blog and web cams, moderation has been applied again.

both on the nest, and mum not too happy about it

Its great that the 4th egg has been laid and i absoulutely love having the peregrines so close to my house. But can i ask why the webcam isnt a live feed?? It would be 10 times better if it didnt just show different frames and if you could see it live. Like they have it on some of the other webcams on bop nests.

The tiercel is huddled to stonework on tower cam, falcon sat tight on the eggs during sleet/snow showers.

Wish I could be at the watchpoint tomorrow but have to go to work at the Royal Derby Hospital, where the Queen is coming after lunch in the Cathedral Quarter.

Great news about the fourth egg!

Great to be watching the falcons again, I've introduced my Year 5's to them, and I hope they're watching them at home this week. Just one slight problem - can't access the videos - it's blank with a little box in the top LH corner with a circle, triangle and a square in it. any suggestions?

Oh and finally signed up to a Google account!!!

@Carole, you probably can't see the videos in school as they are usually hosted by YouTube which is blocked by school filters. Try downloading them elsewhere using Real Player or http://vixy.net Hope that works for you.

The Queen has arrived, but mum peregrine has four more important things to concern her! I wonder if she is aware of our VIP and the crowds below?

Hi Carole, if they're youtube videos they will be blocked through the filter. Also flickr is blocked if you're a City school so you'll need to download the pictures to show to your Y5s!
