A Saturday Egg!

Justin Walker spotted our first egg at 7.30 am today, 18th March and took this screengrab:

7.30 am screengrab shows first egg. Justin Walker

And this screengrab was taken by Helen a few hours later:

The falcon will leave her egg on its own and that is quite normal.
Incubation will not start until the third or fourth egg is laid.

The Project Team
The Derby Cathedral Peregrine Project is managed by Derbyshire Wildlife Trust with support from its partners; Derby Cathedral, Derby City Council and Cathedral Quarter.

and just our egg sitting proudly in centre of box.

We will have to keep our eye on the markings of each egg so as we can determine who is who at hatch CHOL:):) but with our lovely Wendy's vids, we can always go back.

  18. Unfortunately I didn’t actually see when she laid the egg Wendy. She is very good at keeping the eggs hidden
until she is ready to leave them…..

  23. No, Emma, it's not you. We have put up a notice on our webcam page, explaining that a technical issue with some equipment essential to internet connectivity appears to be faulty. Tim Unwin from Derby City Council's Network Team is looking into this today as a priority, and we hope to know more later today.
In essence, a fault with a DHCP server means our system has lost all the unique individual IP addresses that allow communication to occur. In other words, bit of kit like cameras, routers and wireless links don't know how to talk to each other right now until the server is fixed.
I attempted to reboot our camera equipment yesterday from inside the Cathedral Tower, but I'm that only caused the other working address to disappear too!
