Recent photo shows both adults

Ian Bradley (alias ian.superbrad), a local photographer, has taken some photographs a few days ago showing both adults on the cathedral tower. Here's one of his photos.
You can see the male (the tiercel) on the left and the falcon (female) on the right.

She has food and the male is waiting for a moment to get in there and steal some.....
Thanks Ian. It's good to know that both adults are present and looking in good shape.......

Here below is a superb linocut by Robert Gillmor, a master of his craft.
Robert has illustrated many books and magazines over the years. He now lives in Norfolk and holds an open gallery sometime each summer.....

Both adult peregrine falcons were sitting atop the huge, blue lettering on Jury's Inn this morning at 10am.

Facing south, this side of the building gives them protection from this mornings cold winds, plus a chance to warm up were there any morning sunshine and, most importantly, a direct view out towards the nearby cathedral tower and their nest site and food caches.

If you're a car passenger travelling along the northern end of Derby's Inner Ring Road, you might want to keep an eye on the letting on the east side, too. This is easily visible from the main road and if often used buy one or both birds.

They were both there last night at 3 a.m., one on the top ledge looking about, and the other on the edge of the nest box, head under wing.
